How is Phi Phi Don different from Phi Phi Leh?
Phi Phi Leh is the empty national-park island: Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, the Viking Cave. Phi Phi Don is where people live and stay. Day trips see Phi Phi Leh from the water and on short stops, and come to Phi Phi Don for lunch, a walk and a swim. What do day trips do on Phi Phi Don?
Mostly lunch. On Phi Phi, Maya Bay and Khai island it is a buffet on shore at 12:15, with vegetarian dishes and free time. On the Bamboo and fishing day, lunch at a beach restaurant at 12:25 and a snorkel off the island at 13:30. Is the viewpoint worth the climb?
It looks out over the whole archipelago, and on the overnight trips you can climb it early, before the day boats. The card for the Phi Phi two-day trip puts the climb at 10:30 on day two; Five pearls offers an optional climb at 06:00. On Four and Five pearls the viewpoint ticket is 50 ฿, paid on the spot. What is a night on Phi Phi Don like?
Evening first: check-in in the afternoon, dinner at the hotel (19:50 on Phi Phi two days and Four pearls, 18:50 with wine on Five pearls), then the bar, a fire show by Thai champions and a cocktail on the beach. A Thai boxing bar for the brave, and the beach parties later on.

It depends on the trip. A buffet on shore with vegetarian dishes on the Khai island day. A beach restaurant on the Bamboo and fishing day and the Phi Phi two-day trip. On the catamaran and the sunrise trip, lunch on Phi Phi Don with beach time around it. All included in the tour price. A short lunch stop suits families and first-timers on a day trip. The longer midday on the catamaran — lunch, a walk, the viewpoint, the beach — suits people who want a slower Phi Phi. When is the island quietest?

What should I know about getting around?
There are no cars on Phi Phi Don; people walk, and luggage moves along wooden walkways. On the overnight trips, pack one small bag and leave the rest at your hotel on Phuket. Room allocation is handled by the hotel reception on the island.
