Which Phi Phi speedboat day to book
This page covers our three Phi Phi speedboat day trips, and the main difference between them is the clock. (The eleven-islands day also reaches Phi Phi, but only at the end of a Phang Nga and Krabi run.) The Khai island day picks up from 07:30, snorkels at Khai, lunches on Phi Phi Don and reaches Maya Bay at 15:15. The sunrise trip picks up at four and is in Maya Bay from seven to eight. The Bamboo and fishing day picks up around 06:50, walks into Maya Bay along the boardwalk at 11:35 and finishes with fishing off Rang Yai. Pickup times on each trip
On the Khai island day the van comes between 07:30 and 08:30: hotels near Chalong later, the north of the island earlier. On the Bamboo and fishing day it's around 06:50, with Patong, Kata and Karon collected first. On the sunrise trip it's between four and half past four, so get everything ready the night before.

Child prices and park fees
Children aged 4 to 9 pay the child price and from ten the adult price applies (child prices). Where a card says nothing about free places for small children, send the child's age and ask before booking.
The park fee is where the three trips differ. The sunrise trip includes the national park fees. On the Khai island and the Bamboo and fishing days the fee is paid in cash on the day, so bring baht in small notes. Details on national park fees.
What to have ready on the day
Swimwear under your clothes, a towel and sunscreen on all three trips. On the Khai island and the Bamboo and fishing days, baht in small notes for the park fee, and a motion sickness tablet half an hour before boarding if speedboats bother you; both cards suggest it. Reef shoes help at Khai, where the islands have stones.
For the sunrise trip, a warm layer, because it's cold at sea before the sun is up, plus a change of clothes and a camera in a waterproof case. Be in the lobby at your pickup time with the bag packed; the van collects several hotels in a row.
Payment, deposit and cancellation
Payment is agreed in the chat after the booking is confirmed. Ask about the deposit and the cancellation terms when booking, and keep the answer for your date. One thing our Khai island card does spell out: if the authorities close the sea, the trip moves to another date or the payment comes back.
How far ahead, and one last check
