Phuket sightseeing: the island in half a day
Viewpoints, the Big Buddha, Wat Chalong, the old town and five beaches — no shopping stops
The orientation trip, and the one to take in your first days so the rest of the holiday makes sense. It runs the length of the island through the viewpoints — Karon, the windmill, Promthep cape at the southern tip — stops at the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, walks the Sino-Portuguese streets of the old town, and finishes on Rang Hill above the city. There are no shopping stops built into it, which is the usual complaint about island tours here.

Questions we get asked
Is this the tour with the gem shop and the latex factory?
No. There are no shopping stops in this programme — that is the reason it exists.
Do we get time on the beaches?
The beaches are seen from viewpoints and on the drive rather than swum at. Bring a camera, not a towel.
Is it worth taking on the first day?
That is exactly when it works best: you come away knowing where Patong, Kata, Rawai and the old town actually are, and planning the rest of the week is easier.
