Krabi Four Islands Tour from Phuket: Itinerary and Is It Worth It

Our Krabi four islands tour from Phuket visits Naka Yai, Pakbia, Hong and Lao Lading and ends with a sunset on a sandbar: you are at the pier at 09:00, the boat leaves at 10:00 and it is back at 18:30. It is worth it for a late start, easy swimming and the Hong island viewpoint, with park fees in the price; it is not the Railay and Chicken island route, which we run only as a two-day trip.

The itinerary, with times
You meet the boat at Ao Po pier at nine, and it leaves at ten. Half an hour later you're on Naka Yai for about ninety minutes: the lively stop, with water activities and beach games. At 12:40 comes Pakbia, around forty minutes, where you swim and, if the tide has pulled back, walk the tidal maze of sand that appears when the water pulls back.
Hong island gets the longest slot, about two hours from 13:30, with the climb to the viewpoint over the island. At 15:40 there's snorkelling off Hong, at 16:20 Lao Lading for around fifty minutes, and at 17:50 the sunset on the sandbar, about forty minutes. Back at the pier at 18:30. The card is honest that the times are a guide: the programme shifts a little with the season and the time of sunset, and weather can change the order. Which four islands, and which ones it skips
People mean different things by 'Krabi four islands'. Ours are Naka Yai, Pakbia, Hong and Lao Lading. Railay, Phra Nang beach and Chicken island aren't on this day. Why it is worth it
No pre-dawn alarm. That's the first reason, and for many people the deciding one. Our sunrise boats collect you at four and the classic Phi Phi day at half past seven; this one asks you to be at the pier at nine.
Second, the water. Pakbia and Lao Lading have shallow water near the shore where you can stand, and life jackets are on the boat for the whole day, snorkelling included. Third, only the Hong viewpoint involves a climb; the rest is flat beach. And the day ends facing the sunset rather than racing it home, which is the part people remember.
Why it might not be
You're back at the pier at 18:30, and the transfer comes on top, so it's a late dinner. If clear-water snorkelling is the priority, look at the Similans in season; we compare the two on Similan or Krabi for snorkelling. And if Maya Bay is on your list, this isn't a Phi Phi trip.
On the boat itself: the card lists the transfer as 'by coach and boat' and doesn't name the boat type, so if that matters to you, ask in the chat. What is included and what to bring
