Are Canoeing and Park Fees Included on a James Bond Island Tour from Phuket?

By the PhuketGO tour desk on Phuket — we book and run these trips every week · Updated 28 September 2026

    Short answer

Yes on our classic James Bond longtail day: the sea-cave kayak with a local boatman and the national park entrance fee are both in the ticket, so you don't carry cash for the park. The longer routes through Phang Nga Bay (Five pearls, Four pearls, Eleven islands) also have the park fees in the price and stop for canoes at Talu island.

Prices come straight from our booking system. Children under four join free on most trips — each tour page says so.

What exactly is in the price of the longtail day?

The James Bond island and Phang Nga Bay card lists it plainly. Hotel transfer both ways, the longtail boat, kayaking with a guide and equipment, a seafood lunch over the water, life jackets, drinking water and soft drinks, fruit, the national park entrance fee and medical insurance. That's the whole bill for the day, apart from a few small things further down.

Timing matters more than people think. Pickup is at 07:30–08:00, then about an hour and a half on the road to Phang Nga. You board the longtail around 09:30, land on James Bond island at 11:30 and stay an hour. The kayaks run from 12:30 to 14:00, lunch is at the stilt restaurant after that, then Koh Panyi. Hotel by about 18:00.

Do I paddle the kayak myself?

No. On the longtail day a local boatman paddles every kayak, and you sit and look up at the cave walls. That's why the low passages work at all. Some caves open only at certain tides, so the boatman and the guide pick the route on the day.

Nobody needs experience. The card says the kayaking suits any level, which is the honest answer for older travellers and for anyone who doesn't fancy getting tired before lunch. Want your phone to survive? A waterproof case is on the packing list for a reason, along with shoes you don't mind getting wet.

Canoes and park fees on the longer Phang Nga routes

Three more of our trips go through the bay, and all three have the national park entrance fees in the price. Five pearls meets at Royal Phuket Marina at 07:30–08:00 and canoes through the mangroves and caves of Talu island at 10:50; the canoe is written into its included list. Then Krabi, a night on Phi Phi Don, Maya Bay the next morning.

Four pearls stops at Talu for canoes at 11:00, after landing on James Bond island at 10:10. The Eleven islands day also leaves from Royal Phuket Marina and kayaks at Talu at 11:00. On those two the canoe stop sits in the programme and is not among the extra charges. Want it in writing for your date? Ask in the chat before you pay.

What do you still pay for on the day?

On the longtail day: souvenirs in the floating village, extra drinks or alcohol at the restaurant, the professional photo and video if you want it, and tips for the guides and boatmen. Bring small notes for those. No park money, no kayak money.

On Five pearls and Four pearls the one fixed extra is the Phi Phi Don viewpoint ticket, 50 ฿ paid on the spot. Compare that with our Phi Phi days with Khai island or Bamboo island, where the park fee is paid in cash on the boat. There's a full list on are national park fees included.

    Children, non-swimmers and the kayak

Children aged 4 to 9 pay the child price; from ten it's the adult price. On the longtail day under-fours travel free, without their own seat or meals. Life jackets are in the included list, and since the boatman does the paddling, a child only has to sit still and enjoy the caves.

Not a swimmer? You don't have to swim anywhere on the longtail day. It's a boat, a kayak and a restaurant on stilts. The Eleven islands day is a different story: fourteen hours door to door, which the card itself calls too much for small children.

How do I book, and what should I send?

Send the tour, the date, your hotel and everyone's ages. We confirm the pickup time and the total, and payment is agreed in the chat after the booking is confirmed. All four trips run with an English-speaking guide. Comparing boats and routes first? The James Bond island tours page puts them side by side.

Worth knowingKayak with a boatman plus the park fee, no cash needed: the James Bond longtail day. Canoes at Talu plus park fees, with Krabi and Phi Phi added: Five pearls, Four pearls or Eleven islands.
