Where you stay on Phuket changes your pickup time, not the tours you can book: hotel transfer is included on almost every trip from every area. What shifts is how early the minivan comes, which pier is close, and on two trips whether the far north costs extra.

Staying in Patong?
Patong is on the west coast, and every tour pier is on the east, so the morning starts with a drive over the hills — around forty minutes to Chalong without traffic. On the Bamboo and fishing Phi Phi day the card says Patong, Kata and Karon are collected earlier than the south. From Patong the drive to Chalong comes first on the fishing day too; is the sunrise fishing trip worth it has the times.
The diving day includes transfer from Patong. For a sea day without an early drive, the Krabi island trip starts at the pier at 09:00, and the sightseeing tour picks up at 08:45.
Karon and Kata?
Close to the south-east piers: from Kata and Karon it is twenty to twenty-five minutes over a low hill to Chalong, and around twenty-five from Kata to Rawai. That makes the Racha and Coral speedboat, the Phi Phi Khai island day and the fishing boat easy starts. The dive boat leaves from Chalong too, at 08:30; see beginner scuba diving day trip.
Both are on the diving day's included list. The sightseeing tour stops at the Karon viewpoint over Kata Noi, Kata and Karon.
Rawai and Nai Harn?
The easiest base for sea days. Rawai pier is on your doorstep for Coral island — meet at 08:30, back at 14:00 — and Chalong is fifteen to twenty minutes along the east coast. On the Phi Phi Khai island day, hotels near Chalong are collected later, so you sleep longer.
The sightseeing tour skips the viewpoint over Rawai and Nai Harn beaches for guests staying there, the card notes. Bang Tao, Kamala, Surin and Nai Yang?
The north-west is furthest from Chalong: from Kamala, Surin or Bang Tao allow an hour, and from Nai Yang or the airport area about an hour and a quarter. Expect the early end of every pickup window.
Two extras apply: the Avatar world day adds 1,000 ฿ for the far north, and guests there either reach its first stop, the lily café, on their own or skip it. The diving day includes Kamala; other areas off its list pay 1,400–2,400 ฿. On the plus side, the north is closer to Ao Po and Royal Phuket Marina, where the eleven-islands day and Five pearls board.
And Phuket Town?
Central: half an hour to Chalong outside the school rush, and close to Rassada, the main passenger pier. Pickups on most trips fall in the middle of the window.
Which tours start from the north side?
The speedboat runs that board at Royal Phuket Marina: the eleven-islands day, with breakfast there at 07:30, and Five pearls. The Similan trips drive north anyway, to Tablamu pier, and collect from Khao Lak too, so from the north the drive is shorter than from the south. The jet ski tour meets at AA Marina pier at 09:00. Which tours start from the south?
Chalong: the Phi Phi Khai island day (boat at 09:15), the Racha and Coral speedboat (09:00) and the fishing boat (07:00). Rawai: Coral island, meeting at 08:30. Does the area change the price?
Only on the two trips named above: 1,000 ฿ extra from the far north on the Avatar world day, and 1,400–2,400 ฿ on the diving day from areas outside its list. What if I am staying near the airport?
You are in the far north, about an hour and a quarter from Chalong. The northern boarding points — Royal Phuket Marina and AA Marina — are closer, and the Similan trips head north anyway. For southern boats, expect the earliest pickups. Starting the day after arrival helps: a sea trip on landing day rarely works.
