Beyond Skywalk, Phang Nga: Sunrise on the Glass Bridge from Phuket

By the PhuketGO tour desk on Phuket — we book and run these trips every week · Updated 28 September 2026

Beyond Skywalk is a glass bridge above Phang Nga Bay, and our sunrise trip from Phuket is built around it: pickup at 03:45, first steps onto the glass at 05:45, the sun up around 06:15. After breakfast at the top, a longtail through the bay passes James Bond island, and you are back at the hotel around 13:00.

Prices come straight from our booking system. Children under four join free on most trips — each tour page says so.

    Why go at sunrise?

Because that is the product. The drive to the viewpoint takes about two hours, and the card is honest about it: leaving later means arriving after the light has gone flat. At dawn you watch the sun come up over the bay and its limestone islands.

You get free time for photos after sunrise, then a buffet breakfast at the restaurant on top at 06:45, still facing the bay.

Take the photos first, then breakfast at 06:45 — the sunrise light changes quickly.

    Is the glass bridge frightening?

The card describes it as a walkway with a glass floor and full railings, walked at your own pace. People who dislike heights usually stay on the solid sections and still get the whole view of the bay.

Nobody makes you step onto the glass.

    What happens after the bridge?

At 08:00 a longtail boat through the caves and uninhabited islands of Phang Nga Bay, past James Bond island — seen from the water, not landed on. At 09:30 you head back to Phuket; at 10:30 the airplane beach, where aircraft come in low overhead; at 12:30 Ma Doo Bua café and its pond of giant water lilies. Home around 13:00. That longtail passes James Bond island without landing; how to fit Samet Nangshe and a landing into your plans is on Samet Nangshe and James Bond island in one day.

Included: hotel transfer both ways, a guide, a light snack, the longtail trip, the airplane beach stop, the café visit and insurance. The boat photo session at the café is paid separately if you want it.

Is it the same as the Samet Nangshe skywalk?

No — two different bridges in our programmes. The Phang Nga and Samet Nangshe skywalk day stands you on the glass at Samet Nangshe at 08:40 with coffee and dessert, then carries on to the cave temple, mangroves, floating village and elephant spa. The sunrise trip uses Beyond Skywalk. Our Samet Nangshe page sets them side by side. All three stops are set side by side on Samet Nangshe or Beyond Skywalk. When our other trips reach Samet Nangshe, from 08:00 to 13:30, is on Samet Nangshe at sunrise or in the afternoon.

What is the airplane beach stop like?

At 10:30, on the way back to Phuket, the trip stops at the beach where aircraft pass low overhead on their approach to the airport. There is time for photos and a swim, which is why swimwear and a towel are on the bring list. The elephant beach and Mantra Spa day has an airplane-beach stop too, before the elephants and the Samet Nangshe viewpoint.

At 12:30 comes Ma Doo Bua café: drinks, and a pond of giant water lilies. The boat photo session there is optional and paid separately.

    Who is this trip for?

Early risers and photographers, and anyone who wants Phang Nga Bay without spending the whole day on it. Children aged 4 to 9 pay the child price; the pre-four pickup is the hard part for small ones. Every tour in our catalogue runs with an English-speaking guide.

If you want to land on James Bond island and kayak into the caves, the classic James Bond island day is the better fit.

How do I prepare for a 03:45 pickup?

Lay out swimwear, a change of clothes and the camera the night before, and set two alarms. Breakfast is a buffet at the viewpoint restaurant after sunrise, so there is no need to eat at the hotel. A warm layer helps on the drive and on the bridge before the sun is up.

The day is over by around one, so an afternoon nap is part of the plan. Children aged 4 to 9 pay the child price.

    Is breakfast included?

Yes — a buffet at the restaurant on top of the viewpoint at 06:45, facing the bay, plus a light snack later in the day. Extra drinks and snacks, souvenirs and anything not in the programme are your own spending.

If the sea is closed for the longtail part, the guide adjusts the programme; weather can change it, as the card says.

    What should I bring?

Swimwear and a towel for the airplane beach, sunscreen and a hat, a change of clothes, a camera, and cash for souvenirs. Set everything out the night before: the pickup is before four. The child price covers ages 4 to 9, and the whole thing is over by early afternoon.

Worth knowingThe pickup is at 03:45 — plan the evening before accordingly. The upside: the afternoon is yours, which no other sunrise trip we sell can say. Enjoy it. It is worth it.

What time is pickup for the Beyond Skywalk sunrise?

03:45, arriving at the bridge at 05:45.

Does the trip land on James Bond island?

No. The longtail passes it; the island is seen from the water.

    Is breakfast included?

Yes, a buffet breakfast at the restaurant on top, facing the bay.

    When does the tour end?

Back at the hotel around 13:00.

Is Beyond Skywalk the Samet Nangshe skywalk?

No, our programmes use two different bridges.

What happens if it rains on the Beyond Skywalk sunrise tour?
