Trolling, deep-water bottom fishing, crab traps and your catch cooked on board
Fishing boats that leave at nine arrive at spots other boats have already worked. This one leaves at seven, which is the whole idea. The morning is trolling for tuna, barracuda and mahi-mahi, then deep-water bottom fishing, checking the crab traps and watching the crew spearfish. Around midday the boat stops at Racha Yai for snorkelling and swimming, and lunch is cooked on board from whatever you caught — grilled, as tom yum, and as sashimi when the fish allows it.

Questions we get asked
What if we catch nothing?
Lunch is still cooked on board — the menu includes chicken, rice and tom yum as well as the catch. The fish is the bonus, not the only food.
Do children come on this trip?
Yes, and the stop at Racha Yai with snorkelling and swimming is usually what they remember. The day is long, so it suits children who are comfortable on a boat.
Can non-fishing partners come along?
Yes. There is a shaded rest area on the boat, and the Racha Yai stop has snorkelling and a beach, so the day works without holding a rod at all.
