Which tours stop at Lao Lading?
Krabi tropical paradise gives it about fifty minutes from 16:20, just before the sunset on a sandbar at 17:50. The eleven-islands day stops at 12:50 for swimming and snorkelling, after the Phang Nga morning. Five pearls stops at 13:00: white sand, green water, swimming.
On all three it comes together with Hong island — before it on the speedboat runs, after it on the Krabi island day.
On the Krabi island day, Lao Lading is the calm swim before the sunset; on the speedboat runs it is the first swim after a morning of caves and kayaks.
Is it good for non-swimmers?
Yes. The Krabi tropical paradise card says Pakbia and Lao Lading have shallow water near the shore where you can stand, and life jackets are on the boat for anyone who wants one — even while snorkelling.
That makes it one of the easier swim stops for families.
Pakbia, earlier on the same day, has the same kind of shallow water, plus a tidal maze on wet sand when the water pulls back. Between the two, a child who is nervous in the sea gets two gentle places to try.
What is the rest of the Krabi island day?
Pier at 09:00, boat at 10:00, no dark start. Naka Yai for about ninety minutes of beach games and water activities. Pakbia at 12:40 with its tidal maze when the water pulls back. Hong island from 13:30 for two hours — the viewpoint climb and a snorkel. Lao Lading at 16:20, the sandbar sunset at 17:50, back at 18:30.

What happens around Lao Lading on the speedboat runs?
On the eleven-islands day, Lao Lading comes right after lunch in the stilt village of Panyi, and Hong island follows at 14:00 with the beach and the viewpoint. Then the boat runs to Phi Phi, reaching Monkey Beach at 16:10 and Maya Bay at 16:30.
On Five pearls, Lao Lading at 13:00 is followed by Hong island at 14:20 — the beach and the climb to the viewpoint — and check-in on Phi Phi Don at 16:10.
What should I bring?
Swimwear under your clothes, a hat, sunscreen, a change of clothes, a beach towel, a camera, and a little cash for souvenirs — on the Krabi island day park fees are already in the price. A waterproof case for the phone helps at the swim stops.
How does the sunset finish work?
On Krabi tropical paradise, after Lao Lading the boat takes you to a sandbar at 17:50 to face the sunset for about forty minutes, then back to the pier at 18:30. Clouds decide how good it is; the timing shifts with the season. Our sunset trips page has the other evening options.
Is the Krabi island day good for children?
Yes. No dark start, calm water between islands, shallow beaches at Pakbia and Lao Lading, and only one climb — the Hong viewpoint. The child price applies from 4 to 9, and life jackets are on board for anyone who wants to wear one all day, including while snorkelling.
Bring snacks the children already know; lunch on the boat trip is Thai food with the sea in front of you.
What is Hong island, next door?
The main event of the Krabi island day: two hours from 13:30, with the climb to the viewpoint over the lagoon and a snorkelling stop in turquoise water at 15:40. On the speedboat runs it is a shorter stop with the beach and the viewpoint. Our Hong island page covers it in full.
