ATV Tours from Phuket: Quad Bikes in the Jungle

We sell ATV riding from Phuket as part of two full jungle days in Phang Nga, not as an hour on a track. One puts 250cc quads between rafting and an elephant ride; the other fits ATV trails between a bamboo raft and hot springs by the sea.

What happens on the rafting, elephant and ATV day?
A lot, fast. Pickup at 06:50, and by nine you are at Suwan Kuha, a cave temple where a reclining Buddha lies under stalactites and the monkeys come down to meet the minibus. A lakeside park, a rafting briefing at 11:20, then five kilometres of river with an instructor on every raft.
At 12:50 the quads. 250cc machines, a track with bridges, a tunnel and obstacles — and mud. Thai lunch at 13:40, the elephant village with the baby elephant show and a ride, and a waterfall at 16:00 to rinse off in. The minibus leaves for Phuket at 16:30. You will sleep well.
Bring a full change of clothes and keep it in the minibus. The river soaks you, the quad track coats you in mud, and the waterfall only half fixes it.
What is included on the ATV day, and what is not?
Most of it is in. Hotel transfer both ways, the guide, Thai lunch, insurance, park fees, the elephant ride, the rafting with an instructor, the quads, the cave temple and the waterfall. You pay extra for a second elephant ride (300 ฿) and for drinks with lunch.
Some experience on a motorbike or quad helps, and so does reasonable fitness — the river and the track come back to back. Under-fours travel free; the group can be up to forty. Closed shoes help on the pedals.
Is there a calmer ATV option?
The Avatar world day. It opens softly: pickup at 07:00, a café built around giant water lilies at 08:30, a white temple, bathing an elephant and a baby elephant show at eleven, Thai lunch, the Samet viewpoint, bamboo rafting at three.
The ATV trails come at 15:30 — through jungle, with a bridge, a swing and a maze. A waterfall at 16:50. And then, at 17:30, the best part: hot springs by the sea on Natai beach, pools around 40°C, a cold one around 16°C, and the sun going down. Up to twelve people; home at 19:00.

Which ATV day should I pick?
Want to be wrecked by evening? The rafting and ATV day — river and track back to back before lunch. Prefer the effort spread out, a small group and a slow finish in warm water? The Avatar day. Couples and families with older kids usually go that way.
One practical point: from Kamala, Surin or Bang Tao the Avatar day costs 1,000 ฿ more for the transfer. Every tour in our catalogue runs with an English-speaking guide.
What else is on the ATV days?
The Suwan Kuha cave temple at 09:00 has stalactites, bats and a reclining Buddha, and the monkeys come down to meet the minibus. At 10:00 the lakeside park has caves, monkeys to feed and a playground. The rafting runs five kilometres through the jungle with instructors, and you will get wet, so plan your clothes around it.
On the Avatar world day the morning is gentle before the ATV: the lily café with its ponds at 08:30 and the white temple at 09:30. The elephant programme there is helping to wash and bathe the elephant, and lunch is Thai food at noon. At the hot spring resort, massage and spa treatments and a private dinner on the beach are available for an extra charge.
What should I wear for ATV riding?
You will get wet on the river and muddy on the track, so wear clothes you do not mind ruining and bring a full change for the way back. Closed shoes are better than flip-flops for the quads. The temples on both days require shoulders and knees covered, and cover-ups can be hired for a small fee.
