# Samet Nangshe Viewpoint or Beyond Skywalk from Phuket: What Is the Difference? **Short answer:** In our programmes these are three different stops above Phang Nga Bay: the open Samet Nangshe viewpoint, the glass skywalk at Samet Nangshe, and Beyond Skywalk, the glass bridge our sunrise trip from Phuket reaches at 05:45. Children under four join free on most trips — each tour page says so. ## Samet Nangshe viewpoint: the open platform This is the classic viewpoint over the limestone islands of the bay. On the Phang Nga and Samet Nangshe day we collect you at 06:30, and pickup trucks take you up to the top for around 08:40, with time for photographs before it gets hot. Entry to the viewpoint is in the price. From there the day works downhill: Suwan Kuha cave temple and its monkeys, the Black Monk statue, a longtail through the mangroves, a seafood lunch in the sea gypsy village, the elephant spa, a waterfall at four and Mai Khao beach at five. Cheow Lan lake, the Avatar world day and the elephant beach day stop here too: the first at sunrise, the Avatar day at 13:00, the elephant beach day for lunch at 13:30. ## The Samet Nangshe skywalk: glass at the same viewpoint Same province, same 06:30 pickup, same arrival around 08:40. The difference is that you walk out onto a glass bridge over the edge, with the bay underneath, and coffee and dessert are waiting at the top. Our card puts it simply: this day goes up onto the glass skywalk at Samet Nangshe rather than the standard viewpoint platform. It's a railed walkway with a glass section, walked at your own pace. Anyone who'd rather not can stay on the terrace and keep the same view. After the bridge the day follows the Phang Nga route stop for stop, national park fees included, back at the hotel around 18:00. ## Beyond Skywalk: the sunrise bridge This is the one people mix up with the others. Our skywalk sunrise trip picks you up at 03:45, because the drive takes about two hours, and you step onto the Beyond Skywalk glass bridge at 05:45. The sun comes up around 06:15, there's free time for photographs, and a buffet breakfast at the viewpoint restaurant follows at 06:45, still facing the bay. At 08:00 a longtail takes you through the caves and islands of Phang Nga Bay, past James Bond island (seen from the water, not landed on). Then the airplane beach at 10:30, Ma Doo Bua café and its giant water lilies at 12:30, and the hotel around 13:00. Earlier is quieter. Our Samet Nangshe page puts it plainly: the earlier the stop, the fewer people at the rail. For an actual sunrise there are two options, Beyond Skywalk on the sunrise trip and the Cheow Lan lake day, which leaves at 06:00 and makes Samet Nangshe its sunrise stop before heading north to the lake. The Phang Nga days arrive at about 08:40, which is still morning light. The afternoon visits are lunch stops: 13:00 on the Avatar world day, 13:30 on the elephant beach day. Those suit people who want the view without an alarm clock. The Beyond Skywalk card adds a reason for going early: leave later and you arrive after the light has gone flat.
